Scope and Contents

Travel album of the Panama Canal, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Arizona, New Mexico, and New Orleans. Creator is possibly Thomas Tavenor, a first-class passenger from New Rochelle, New York. Traveled on the S.S. Finland from New York City to San Francisco. Most of album features Santa Monica and includes photographs of the Santa Monica Pier, the Brentwood Country Club, the Santa Monica Swimming Club, Pacific Palisades, Venice Beach, Magnetic Hill, various movie studios, Hollywood Bowl, and movie star homes. Also includes images of Stanford University, the Apache Trail, the Luna Consolidated Mining Company in New Mexico, and "Mexican homes."
