Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, maps, survey data, disposal reports, news clippings, & other items. The materials are not filed chronologically and most are in packets according to topics or interests. Examples are: a large packet of material (Dec. 1964-May 1965) re/ noise levels related to potential property development near Lindbergh Field and NAS Miramar; a letter (10 May 1965) from General Wallace M. Green, Jr. (Commandant of the Marine Corps) & attached copy of "Service Information Release" re/ inability of the "Marine Corps to lease the land requested by the Director, California Department of Parks and Recreation, for use as a recreational area. The land is the northernmost mile of beach at Camp Pendleton, California;" a packet of letters & office notes (June-July 1965) re/ request from Leon W. Bafus (Bureau of Yards and Docks) & attached copies of Dept. of the Navy, "Disposal Report No. 201" re/ "Independence Housing Project, Midway Drive and Barnett Avenue, San Diego: "Area - 27.64 acres for Disposal -- Land - $93.177.00 -- Improvement - $1,083,314.00 -- Total - $1,176,491.00" and copies of Housing Facilities Disposal Reports No. 202 (Moffet Field) and No. 163 (Davis-Monthan Air Force Base); letters (Sept. & Oct. 1965) from GSA, Wilson, and Encinitas constituent Carl Sjobring (with attached newspaper story & promotional literature) re/ Dr. Gene French and Youth for Christ interest in "obtaining property at the Camp Elliott Military Reservation for use as a boys and girls rehabilitation camp;" a large packet of corresp. & map material (1962- 1965) re/ Wilson's assistance to Spring Valley constituent Edward P.
