Co. & Congressman Wilson's reply (Mar.& Apr. 1960) & attached copy of Bureau of Yards and Docks, Disposal Project No. 247, "Portion of Naval Retraining Command, Camp Elliott, San Diego, California" re/ the Dennis Co.'s interest in the proposed disposition of some 22,000 acres of Camp Elliott land; a small collection of letters & a news release (Mar.-May 1960) re/ the annual trek to the Sierra Cross and interest in declaring Padre Dam a historical monument; letters (Apr. – June 1960) from Ben Dixon (Chairman, Permanent Committee, Annual Trek to Serra Cross), Congressman Wilson & the National Park Service re/ "the suggested establishment of a small State park adjacent to Padre's Dam on a portion of Camp Elliott;" 2 news clippings (2/1/61) S.D.Union & Evening Tribune re/ "Elliott Property Sought For Park" & "Land Acquisition Okayed For Mission Gorge Park;" a letter (2/2/61) from Wilson, the reply (2/15/60) from Harry C. Haelsig (Planning Dir., City of San Diego) & a news clipping "Mission Gorge—New City Park?" (Evening Tribune, 12/26/60) re/ Wilson's interest in the city proposal to establish a park in the Mission Gorge area; and a letter (3/8/61) from Wilson to City Mgr. George Bean and Bean's reply (3/13/61) re/ problems related to acquiring the Padre Dam location because of private ownership and other issues.
