Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, notes, news clippings, telegrams, pamphlet, postal cards & other items. These are not filed consecutively as to dates. Examples are: a letter (8/11/64) from constituent Mrs. E. Luginbuhal, attached news clippings & Wilson's reply (9/3/64) re/ "Ousted Security Aid Otepka Raised Cuba Warning Flag;" notes and telegrams (Aug. 1964) re/ "Release of Leonard Larsen Held at Morelia Hospital;" letters & military notice (May-July 1964) from George Brada (Munich, Germany), Congressman Wilson, Frederick G. Dutton (Asst. Sec., Dept. of State) & Col. Hardiman, Commander of the General Depot in Nahbollenach, Germany re/ the discontinuance of Labor Service units in West Germany – especially the Czechoslovak Labor Service Company; letters (MayJune 1964) from constituent Robert E. Mahony, Wilson and Frederick G. Dutton (State Dept.) re/ use of American Embassy library in Madrid for Mr. Mahony's niece; other issues and topics in this folder include: information for constituent on Cadette Girl Scouts and citizenship badge; reduction in A.I.D. personnel staffing to meet the President's determination to improve quality and efficiency; a copy of Colonel Tom Drake, U.S.A. (Ret.), The trojan horse. & letters (Dec. 1963-Mar. 1964) re/ an "anti-U.N. publication" and La Jolla constituents Peter & Shirley Selby's attempts to obtain more facts; information for the San Diego Zoological Society on State Dept. support of conservation activities in Africa; State Dept. response to constituent inquiry about Soviet citizens being allowed to visit San Diego; and over 30 telegrams, letters, postal cards and Wilson's replies re/ protests of "the State Department directive to its field officers in 20 major cities to destroy their files on Government security risks."
