Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, telegrams, office notes, maps & reports. Examples are: letters (Sept.-Oct. 1957) from J. Onis Leonard (Asst. to the President, La Verne College, CA), E. F. Terrar, Jr. (Admin. Asst. to Wilson) & Albert M. Cole (Administrator, Housing and Finance Agency. FHA) re/ "loan application filed by that institution under the College Housing Program;" corresp, "La Mision Vieja de San Miguel" map and notes (Aug. 1957-Jan. 1958) from Congressman Wilson, La Jolla constituent William Quinn, Guilford Jameson (Deputy Dir. for Congressional Relations, International Cooperation Admin.), and E.F. Terrar, Jr. re/ a group of San Diegan investors, known as the "Mexican Investment Research Fund" requests Wilson's assistance in "securing a government loan in connection with a project . . . for a real estate development approximately 40 miles south of Tijuana in Mexico; letters (May-July 1958) from Harold E. Baker (Administrator, San Diego Methodist Home – The Fredericka and Mountain View Manor), Wilson & V. M. Hodge, M.D. (Asst. Surgeon General, H.E.W.) re/ attempts to have the Community Facilities Act apply to non-profit corporations as well as government bodies; a packet containing letters and a telegram (Dec. 1958 & Jan. 1959) from Daryl Hutchins (Mgr., Olive Adv. Bd.) and Congressman Wilson, and attached copies of "Request For Consideration of the Matter of Granting An Olive Oil Loan To California Growers By the Commodity Credit Stabilization Service (7 pp.) and a "Brief Of Information Relating To California Olive Oil," (17 pp.) re/ the industry's reaction to "the adverse decision from CCC regarding request for a support loan for oil;" other topics in this folder are: "application of the San Diego Federal Savings and Loan Association for branch facilities in South Bay Plaza, National City;" "possible small business loan for expansion" of Johnson's 5 & 10 in Lakeside, CA; problem with Fisherman's Loan fund and denial of loan for the M/V Mariner; credit issue, politics and personal information regarding the Skye Farm Turkey Ranch in Potrero, CA; and tuna vessel Evelyn R's loan problem.
