Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, pamphlets, telegrams, news clippings & other items. Examples are: letters (Dec.1959-Jan. 1960) from San Diego constituent & WWII Navy veteran Harry S. Parker, Congressman Wilson, Donald McLarnan (Regional Dir., Small Business Admin.) & attached copy of SBA, Limited Loan Participation Plan re/ Wilson's assistance to Mr. Parker in trying to obtain help from the SBA for his frozen food distributorship; a packet of corresp. (Aug. 1959-Jan. 1960) from Capt. J. Correia (Managing Owner of the M/V Virginia R), David H. Carsten (Manager, Harbor Boat & Yacht Co.), Leon W. Parma (Wilson's Admin. Asst.), Congressman Wilson & Ross Leffler (Asst. Sec., Dept. of the Interior) re/ the complicated process of attempting to obtaining a third loan for the Virginia R; letters (Jan. & Feb. 1960) from Congressman Wilson and Donald L. McKernan (Dir., Bureau of Commercial Fisheries, Fish and Wildlife Service, Dept. of the Interior) re/ failure of Mr. Medina to obtain a loan on the tuna clipper San Joaquin & a sequel to this in Mar. 1960 of its approval; other topics in this folder are: constituent concern regarding Federal Land Bank financing; Wilson's assistance to the Imperial Beach Publishing Co.; Station KITT, FCC & SBA complications on loan issues and expenses (Docket No. L-363,797-LA-R); personal and political issues from a Pacific Beach constituent to Wilson; a Lemon Grove constituent informs Wilson of views and news concerning Small Business Administration loans (Docket No. L-363, 953-LA); telegrams re/ loan application for M/V Mary S; a list of "Loans on fishing vessels to people from San Diego for period September 1, 1958 ---- August 31, 1960" – total of $1,482,145; personal letter to Wilson regarding HHFA loan for Golden Age Life Foundation Care, Inc.; and a constituent's interest in "a possible SBA loan for the purpose of erecting a bowling alley with bar and coffee shop in Spring Valley;
