A collection of reports, letters, office notes, brochures, news clippings and other items. Examples are: A listing of "Flag and General Officers San Diego Area 1 June 1959" & "Major Commands" (5 pages); letters (Jan.-Feb. 1960) from constituent C. F. Wasser, Congressman Wilson & Capt. J. M. Phelps (Commanding Officer and Director, U. S. Navy Electronics Laboratory, Point Loma) re/ suggestions from Mr. Wasser that the Navy allow civilians and military personnel to view events in San Diego Bay from areas in Point Loma controlled by the Electronic Laboratory; office note & letters (Jan. 1960) from Cathy, Wilson & constituent Norman Foster (S.D. Yacht Club) re/ suggestions for having "an appropriate naval officer of Admiral rank present the United States Navy trophy to the winner at the presentation dinner in Acapulco, Saturday, January 30, 1960;" news clipping with photo (S.D. Union, 10-26-59) re/ "Ghost Fleet Awaits Call To New Life;" a letter (2/3/60) from RAdm. Paul D. Stroop (Chief, Bureau of Weapons) & attached copies of pamphlets from the Naval Ordinance Test Station, China Lake – a response to Mr. Parma's request for information; other topics and issues in this folder are: letter (1/8/60) & "Fact Sheet regarding the Naval Supply Center, San Diego;" letter (1/8/60) & "Attachment (A) Fact Sheet On U.S. Naval Auxiliary Air Station, Brown Field, Chula Vista;" a packet of corresp. (Jan.-Mar. 1960) re/ dispute over civilian personnel in Naval Commissary Stores vs. using "boots" right out of training & budget cuts for military; corresp. (3/60) re/ request from Wilson for information on ASW Tactical School, Norfolk; letters (Mar.-Apr. 1960) re/ responses to constituent inquiry as to "sonic booms in the San Diego area; letters (Apr.-May, 1960) re/ "civilian use of Brown Field" & background information on the Field; letters (4/60) & news clippings re/ concerns over air pollution from fire fighting training by the Navy; letters (May-June, 1960) re/ constituent complaint about "improper business action carried out by an agency of the United States Navy. . . . the Navy Exchange, U.S. Naval Communication Training Center, Imperial Beach, California."
