Scope and Contents
A collection of postcards from 1958 -- all of these oppose the RIF scheduled for the Amphib. Base; a collection of 5x8 cards listing drug stores in San Diego, San Francisco, San Leandro and San Luis Obispo; and letters & a telegram. Examples are: a letter (8/6/59) J. Gerald Hockin, M. D. (Paradise Valley Sanitarium and Hospital) & Wilson's reply (8/18/59) re/ appreciation of the use of "skiing over on the Strand, on Navy property;" letters (Jan.-Feb. 1960) from C. L. Bruso (Lodge 1716, American Federation of Government Emplopees), Congressman Wilson & Capt. H. Hart Kait (Commanding Officer, U. S. Naval Amphibious Base) re/ use of military personnel to do civilian employee labor work on base repair and demolition of buildings; a telegram (10/23/58) from Thomas S. Gates, Jr. (Secretary of the Navy) to Wilson re/ Wilson's salute to the Navy and comments supporting the Navy are appreciated.
