A small collection of memorandum, letters, news articles & other items. Examples are: Memorandum to Congressional Liaison, Capt. Buller from Capt. W.J. Ruhe, OPNAVE 605B & attached copy of John G. Norris, "Indian Ocean Fleet Needed, Says Burke," Washington Post (9/22/60) re/ "Material on Indian Ocean for Congressman Wilson;" copy of editorial from Union (4/5/61) re/ "Power Vacuum In Indian Ocean U.S. Fleet Must Fill Gap;" copy of "Resolution No. 245, Indian Ocean Fleet," 60th National Convention, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. (8/30-9/4/59); note to Leon (n.d.) and attached copy of "The Importance of the Indian Ocean to American Survival" (10 pp.); letters (Feb. & Mar. 1961) from Wilson, E. Robert Anderson (Union-Tribune Publishing Co.) & attached copy of "a scholarly treatise on the need for a U.S. Fleet in the Indian Ocean. It was prepared by a top ranking Naval personality who must remain in the background." Wilson hoped that the publishing company would do a story on this.
