A collection of letters, notes & other items. Examples are: letters (Jan.-Feb. 1960) from Gostin and Katz (attorneys at law), Wilson & RAdm. A. S. Chrisman (Commanding Officer, U. S. Naval Hospital, San Diego) re/ "serious allegations about treatment accorded enlisted personnel at the Naval Hospital;" letters (2/6)) from constituent Helen M. Haynes, Wilson & RAdm. Chrisman re/ a Navy wife complaints about being forced to fill civilian doctor's prescription at a private pharmacy due to inadequate hours at the Naval Hospital; Wilson office notes (4/60) re/ treatment for Vice Counsel's wife from Tijuana at Naval Hospital; a constituent's "Thank You" card to Wilson regarding his help "in getting my daughter . . . to the Naval Hospital" - hours later her baby was born; a large packet of corresp. (Sept.-Nov. 1960) re/ Wilson's attempt to resolve a complicated health problem for a constituent's daughter, whose husband was based in Florida; letters (Oct.-Dec. 1960) re/ constituent complaints about not obtaining time off from the commanding officer's response indicated that the time off was "permissive – not directive. It was left to each Department Head to determine who could be spared;" a large stapled packet of letters, notes & a news clipping re/ optometric, dental & prescription issues and politics; letters (Nov.-Dec. 1960) re/ "the availability of ambulance service for retired personnel;" letters (Oct.-Dec. 1960) re/ parking crisis for Naval Hospital and having to park in the zoo lot; a stapled packet of letters (Jan.-Feb. 1961) re/ a serious burn case for a young son of a Navy enlistedman and his subsequent treatment under the San Diego County Welfare Dept. are the issues discussed in this packet of letters.
