A collection of letters, telegrams, a government document & news clippings. Examples are: letters (Nov. 1956-Jan. 1957) from constituent Mrs. Kathleen E. Stockfisch, Congressman Wilson & attached copy of PL 380 "To provide for the granting of careerconditional and career appointments to certain qualified employees" re/ complaints that Wilson was unable to resolve; a small packet of corresp. (Oct.-Dec. 1957) from constituent Miss Virginia E. DuBois , et al., Congressman Wilson, RAdm. L. V. Honsinger (Acting Chief of BuShips) & RAdm. A. G. Mumma (Chief of BuShips) re/ responses to complaints from a number persons about "the promotion policy and the promotion board at the Supply Department, U. S. Naval Repair Facility;" letters (Feb.- Mar. 1958) from R.E. Davis (Pres., National Federation of Federal Employees), Congressman Wilson and RAdm. R. J. Arnold (Chief of Bureau of Supplies and Accounts) re/ concerns over the consolidation of the Supply Dept. at the Repair Facility; a large packet of corresp. & medical information (1957-1958) from an El Cajon constituent, Wilson, F.E. Raterman (Dir., Industrial Relations, Buships), John Steele (Chief, Regulations and Instructions Div., U. S. Civil Service Commission) & Capt. A. K. Romberg (Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Repair Facility) re/ a former employee's claim she had with the Repair Facility "requesting annual leave be converted to sick leave for a certain period of time;" a letter (3/31/58) from I.C. Dudley (Pres., Employees Assn., Naval Repair Facility) & Wilson's reply (4/9/58) re/ "S. 3426 and H.R. 11094, which have an intent to divert work common to military installations to private industry. Please be assured that it is my intention to oppose these bills;" copy of "Shop Management" photos from page 4 of The Barometer (Apr. 11, 1958) of NRF employees TY Carr and I.C. Dudley; other topics and issues in this folder are: 2 letters (Feb.& Apr. 1958) re/ Wilson's support for H.R. 9735 permitting credit for unused sick leave to annuity; letters (May-June 1958) re/ Wilson's opposition to H.R. 11094; letters (6/58) re/ KFMB TV broadcast by Harold Keen and support for maintaining the Navy in San Diego; letters & telegram (July-Aug. 1958) re/ appropriation committee on reinstatement funds for modernization and overhaul reserve fleet ships to benefit San Diego and competition with Long Beach; letter (12/18/58) & news clipping re/ consolidation of Naval Repair Facility with Naval Supply Depot in March 1959 to save money will cut 100 civilian employees; letters & telegram (10/58) re/ Reduction in Force indicating Wilson's efforts to avert some of the reduction in force of employees at the Naval Amphibious Base; letters (6/58) re/ more information on reduction in force and Wilson's actions to help civilian employment.
