Examples are: office notes & a letter (12/61) of reply to North Island Assn. re/"question about the funding for the 169 new hires at North Island;" letters (Nov. 1961-Jan. 1962) from J.D. Slaton (Pres., North Island Assn.), Congressman Wilson, Capt. W. W. McCory (Executive Asst. and Senior Aide to the CNO) & VAdm. John Sylvester (Deputy Chief of Naval OperationsLogistics) re/ Wilson's visit to North Island and conclusion that the civilian cafeteria needed remodel or replacement (also see Folder 7 - letters Nov.-Dec.1958) on this topic; office notes (3/61), copy of "Employment Reductions In the Naval Weapons Shore Establishment" & a letter (3/14/63) from Capt. E. C. Ogle (Asst. Slaton (Pres., North Island Assn.) to Secretary of the Navy Fred Korth praising Commanding Officer Capt. William Collins (NAS) and enclosures: (1) "Nomination For John Paul Jones Award For Inspirational Leadership" (2) "'North Island Day' Proclaimed" & (3) photocopies of articles from The San Diego Union & the Evening Tribune featuring awards to Captain Collins.
