Examples are: a large packet of letters, telegrams & a "Civilian Personnel Newsletter" (1957-1959) from constituents, Wilson, naval personnel & others re/ reduction in force for NTC's Disbursing Office & retirement issues; a packet of notes, letters & mail grams (Nov. 1958-July 1959) from constituents, Wilson, Naval Training Center, S.D Urban League & others re/ alleged discrimination in Navy Exchange employment practices at NTC; letters (June-Aug. 1959) from La Mesa constituent John A. Minor, Congressman Wilson & Capt. R. C. Lynch, Jr. (Commander, NTC, San Diego) re/ Mr. Minor's (an Air Force Reservist) complaint about food served in Mess Hall No. 6 and naval personnel doing mess duty; a letter (11/1/59) from Wilson to Capt. Lawrence B. Cook re/ the Capt.'s new assignment as Commanding Officer, NTC replacing Capt. Lynch; a letter (4/28/60) and attached news release (4/26/60) from J. A. McHenry (Dist. Public Works Office, 11th Naval Dist.) re/ "a contract for Construction of Communications School Facilities" at NTC. The low bid was $1,329,000. other issues and topics in this folder are: letter (6/30/6) from CA Assemblyman Frank Luckel to Wilson re/ politics; letter (3/14/61) from Capt. L. B. Cook (Commander, NTC) to Wilson re/ luncheon in February and enclosed pictures for Wilson's scrapbook; a packet of corresp. (Feb.-Apr. 1961) re/ opposition to closing the typewriter repair shop at NTC; a packet of corresp. (Mar.-Apr. 1961) re/ discussions and information related to "Navy property currently utilized by the U.S. Naval Communication Training Center, Imperial Beach;" letters, entrance pass and invitation card (6/61) re/ change of command ceremony for Capt. Cook.
