A small collection of items as follows: a photocopy of a letter (4/28/58) F.C. Daniel (Secretary, National Rifle Assn.) re/ complaints about statements made by Walter H. B. Smith concerning the "Carcano" rifle design; copies of NRA Bulletin (5/1/58) re/ "H. R. 12181, By Congressman Morgan [sic], To Amend the Mutual Security Act of 1954" which would restrict the importation or reimportation into the U.S., other than for Armed Forces, of arms or ammunition originally manufactured for military purposes; a letter (5/1/58) from Alvin D. Gettler (President, Pasadena Firearms Company) & attached copy of "Statement of Pasadena Firearms Company and Golden State Arms Corporation . . . in Reference to the Morano Amendment to Section Section 413 (b) of the Mutual Security Act" (11 pp.); a copy of Pasadena Firearms Company "Brief on the Morano Amendment. . . ." (n.d.) & a telegram (5/2/58) to Wilson from several firearms companies re/ threat of bankruptcy if the Morano Amendment is passed.
