Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, a pamphlet, a newsletter & a periodical excerpt. Examples are: a PROJECT CONCERN NEWSLETTER "News From Hong Kong," Sept.7, 1962 & a reprint from the August 9, 1962 issue of the Coronado Journal, "The Turpin family off for Hong Kong;" a letter (2/27/63) from Dr. Jim Turpin to Bob Wilson re/ personal commentary and other information on Project Concern; a letter (2/28/63) from constituent Mrs. Rhea Ann Bellon, Wilson' s reply (3/14/63) & attached letter 3/8/63) from Adm. George W. Anderson (Chief of Naval Operations) re/ assistance to Dr. Turpin's medical aid in Hong Kong and possible use of APL 49 which was excess to Navy requirements. "An APL is a World War II non-self-propelled barracks barge;" letters (Feb.-Mar. 1963) from El Cajon constituent Gail Thompson, Wilson, Adm. George W. Anderson (CNO) & Project Concern pamphlet re/ project concern using surplus Navy ships; letters (Feb.-Mar. 1963) from Mrs. Florance B. Mitchell (Chairman, Project Concern Committee, San Diego County Medical Secretaries and Assistants), Wilson, Adm. Anderson (CN0) & enclosures "Extract from Title 10 U. S. Code" & "Instructions for Preparation of Application for the Donation of Navy Surplus Ships, Boats and Small Landing Craft" re/ Wilson's help in providing information to Mrs. Mitchell's inquiry about using Moth Ball Fleet in San Diego Harbor to help Project Concern in Hong Kong; a letter (4/6/63) from Florence R. Liebhaber (Secretary, Project Concern, Inc., Coronado) to Wilson thanking him for his support; letters (1/30/64) Dr. James W. Turpin & Robert P. Lowell (Harrison & Watson, Attorneys at Law) re/ personal information and updates on actions to help the Montegards in Vietnam by Project Concern.
