Scope and Contents

Two stapled copies of letters in this folder. 1) letters (June 1959-Feb. 1960) from Coronado constituents Anna Boales & Mrs. Jimmie East, Wilson & RAdm. C.C. Hartman (Commandant, Eleventh Naval District) re/ complication for the residents of this housing tract, because the city was making plans to tear down these units and apartment type dwellings that will increase the rents. The Navy sold this housing area to the city in 1953 for a token sum with the understanding it would be maintained until Navy dependant housing needs could be met locally; 2) letters (6/60) from El Cajon constituent Andrew A. Lemon (& petition signed by 39 others), Congressman Wilson & Capt. Will J. Davis (Acting Ex. Asst. to Chief of Bureau, Bureau of Yards and Docks re/ "concern for the security of their future employment due to [the Navy's – Cabrillo Heights] plans for converting quarters maintenance to a commercial operation."
