Scope and Contents

A collection of letters and a CPA financial statement. Examples are: letters (Nov.1953) from constituent Dr. Frank B. Gigliotti, E. F. Terrar, Jr. (Wilson's Admin. Asst.) & RAdm. J. Rerry (Chief of the Bureau of Yards and Docks) re/ housing being built on Kwajalein to replace old ones as part of the Replacement Housing Program – PL 534/82 for a total $12 million that also covers Guam, Guantanamo and stations in the Philippines; a packet of letters (Nov. 1955- Feb. 1956) re/ a controversy over "decent living quarters aboard" U.S. Naval Radio Station, Imperial Beach, California – these units were built in 1925; letters (6/55) and a copy of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (Certified Public Accountants), "Bakers Beach Apartments, Inc., Financial Statements – April 30, 1955" – As a "sponsor of a 500-unit Wherry Housing Project in The Presidio of San Francisco . . . [they were] vitally interested in any legislation that might affect our operations, particularly S. 1501, S. 1765, and H.R. 5700;" letters (June-July 1956) re/ lack of housing for married enlisted men on Midway Island & the absence of adequate recreational facilities; letters (3/56) from two constituents, Wilson and the Commandant's Office, Eleventh Naval Dist. re/ the problem of fencing yards to protect toddlers and families in Navy Public Quarters Project #2.
