Scope and Contents
A letter (3/9/55) from A. T. Procopio (Procopio, Price, Cory and Schwartz) & Congressman Wilson's reply (3/14/55) re/ concerns from the American Committee on Italian Migration about the need for more liberal quotas from Europe. In "the fiscal years of 1950, 1951 and 1952, approximately 45%, or over 208,000, of the authorized quotas were not utilized;" and letters (10/55) from El ; Cajon constituent Humphrey P. Lane, Commissioner J. M. Swing (Immigration and Naturalization Service) & E. F. Terrar, Jr. (Wilson's Admin. Asst.) re/ a citizen's complaint concerning the stopping of vehicles on Highway 101 near San Clemente, CA by the I.N.S. "I have noticed that the only people who are ever told to pull over to the side of the road are those with a darker complexion and those with real old cars."
