Memorandum, memo & letter (Mar.-June 1964) from LM, Cathy, Wilson & Chula Vista constituent Maggie Linden re/ assistance to Mrs. Linden’s brother’s mother-in-law becoming an American citizen; letters (8/64) from Imperial Beach constituent Mrs. Lorraine C. Payne, Wilson & A.E. Edgar (Officer in Charge, INS, S.D.) re/ query to Wilson for assistance in processing citizenship for her mother-in-law; letters (July-Dec. 1964) from Mr. & Mrs. C. I. Feurzeig, Wilson & Raymond F. Farrell (Commissioner, INS) re/ Wilson’s assistance in processing citizenship for Mr. Feurzeig’s wife, who was born in Russia in 1914 and came to the United States in 1921 and believed that she had become a citizen through her father’s naturalization in 1926; letters (Aug.-Dec. 1964) from Mrs. Nathan F. Baranov, Wilson & Raymond F. Farrell (Commissioner, INS) re/ Mrs. Baranov, born in San Diego County in 1895, lost her citizenship through marriage to Mr. Baranov in 1917, because of her husband’s birth in Canada, although his father had been naturalized in North Dakota. A good example here of the complexity of immigration and naturalization law and its enforcement.
