A collection of letters, Resolutions, Amendments, pamphlets, office notes, a periodical excerpt, telegrams & news clippings. Examples are: letters (11/59-1/60) from El Cajon constituent Mrs. Royce E. Price, Wilson, Leon V. Langan (BIA) & Commissioner of Indian Affairs Glenn L. Emmons re/ responses to Mrs. Price’s inquiry as to “the need for improving conditions of the Indian Reservations here in California” & her reference to Mrs. Florence Shipek’s talk about the Morongo Reservation; letters & a Lease Resolution (7/59-2/60) from constituents Garcia Quilwah & Palo Largo (Campo Indian Reservation), Wilson, Rex Lee (Acting Commissioner) & Commissioner of Indian Affairs Glenn L. R. 2494, to authorized the Navajo Indian Irrigation Project . . . of the San Juan-Chama Project;” letters & pamphlet (6/60) re/ Bureau of Indian Affairs response to constituent concerns about St Labre Mission promotional pamphlet; letters & office note (6/60) re/ Congressman Wilson’s response to constituent inquiry as to Omaha Tribe of Nebraska’s Indian Claims settlement of $2,900,000; letters (Apr.-June 1960) from Mrs. Brucie Mae Blackwood (Spokesman for the Manzanita Indian Reservation), Bryon F. Lindsley and Charles E. Burch, Jr. (Crabtree and Lindsley, Law Offices) & Roger Ernst (Asst. Maurice McCabe” re/ an endorsements of “Mr. J. Maurice McCabe, Executive Secretary of the Navajo Tribe” for appointment to the post of Commissioner of Indian Affairs; telegram & letter (Aug. & Sept. 1960) re/ inquiry from Davis Development Co as to Swinomish Indian Reservation lands on Fidalgo Island in the State of Washington; a letter (12/31/60) from Edward A. Milligan (Executive Dir., North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission) to Wilson re/ a “call to act upon bills affecting the American Indian;” a news clipping “150 Million Sought County Indians Join Land Suit,” Union, Jan. 21, 1960, a1.
