Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, telegrams, a blueprint, periodical excerpts & other items. Examples are: a letter (4/29/57) from constituent Roy L. Knox (Knox & Knox) & Wilson’s reply (5/9/57) re/ “We want to declare our opposition to the proposed legislation, S 1074” – the Inventive Contribution Awards Act; copy of Wilson letter (1/30/57) to R. B. Swanson (Convair Div. of General Dynamics) re/ suggestion from rocket engineer about a device to control solid propellant rockets; a letter (3/31/58) from constituent William H. Clint, his attached blueprint & Wilson’s reply (4/9/58) re/ Mr. Clint’s proposal to establish “Docking for Carriers” at the South end of Mission Bay, using “an extension of the Flood Channel, with a road on the South Side of the Channel” to connect to Highway 101 and the development of a RR spur – Wilson was concerned about the impact of Clint’s suggestion on the future development on Mission Bay; letters (4/58) from Chad F. Calhoun (V.P., Willys Motors, Inc.) & Wilson re/a demonstration of the “Convertible Mule, its latest military vehicle;” letters & a telegram (June-Aug. 1958) re/ Solar Aircraft Company and concerns about H. R. 12575, the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958; a copy of Patents & Inventions An information aid for inventors, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, 1959; letters (9/59) re/ the “Danials Space Ship Propulsion System;” a letter (5/5/59) from A. Auerbach (Glendale, CA) to Wilson and attached copy of an article from the Saturday Evening Post (6/9/51) re/ “Are We Stifling the Inventors?”; a copy of Captain George M. Robillard (Asst. Chief for Patents, Office of Naval Research, Dept. of the Navy), Pity The Poor Bureaucrat (An address given before the Conference on Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law of the State of California on 9 Oct 1958 (21 pages); other items in this folder are: letters (Aug. & Sept. 1959) re/ Dr. Kalbfell’s Marine Exploration Co. & his “electrical well logging group;” letters (Aug.-Sept. 1959) re/ “the first patent application from the State of Hawaii” & letter congratulating newly elected Congressman Daniel K. Inouye; letters (9/59) re/ comments on the pamphlet, Patents & Inventions; a stapled packet containing letters (Jan.-Feb. 1959) & excerpts from CEMA NEWS, Nov.-Dec. 1958 & promotional articles re/Coordinator of Music Education, San Diego City Schools De Forrest Gay, his problems with obtaining an “Instant Pitch Finder patent” & other interesting information on Mr. Gay’s long attachment to the Republican Party.
