Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, statements, promotional pamphlets, periodical excerpts & other items. Examples are: a letter (6/26/59) from Banning constituent John Phillips, office note & 2 small packages of “Shur –Tie” plastic devices to help keep shoe laces tied; a stapled packet containing letters & a drawing (9/59 – 1/60) re/ San Diego inventor Allan P. Daniels’ difficulty and frustration with getting his electric space ship propulsion system recognized by NASA & Convair; stapled packet of corresp. (11/59-2/60) & Govt. Printing Office copy of National Science Foundation, “Scientific Information Activities of Federal Agencies,” Nov. 1959 re/ Dept. of Commerce Patent Office information “about the improved service . . . to inventors through microfilming of patents in various libraries;” letters & office note (4/60) re/ Curtis Electronic Data System, Division of Lease-it Corporation, El Cajon CA, letters to Bureau of Weapons, Dept. of the Navy, Congressmen Wilson & Curtis to promote Jet Engine B-H 1; letters (Apr.-May 1960) re/ a constituent’s search for a reliable and honest patent attorney; letters (Apr.-May 1960) re/ Wilson helps constituent obtain information on patents; letters (5/60) a Boulevard constituent offers advice to Wilson on need for full employment bill, etc. and requests address for National Inventor’s Council; stapled packet containing a letter (6/3/60) from Harvey Riggs (Pres., Strategic Industries Assn.), a photo copy of “Government Seeking Royalties, L.A. Industrial News, May 31, 1960, 2 copies of “Patent and Proprietary Rights S.I.A. Principles” and 7 page “Statement of: Mr. Robert R. Lent Chairman of Patents and Proprietory Rights Committee Strategic Industries Association before the Committee on Science & Astronautics of the House of Representatives Washington, D.C. December 5, 1959,” re/ urging support for “H.R. 9484 to restore to the small defense manufacturer the basic rights afforded him under the patent laws of the United States;” other items in this folder are: letters (May-July) re/ Knox & Knox are reliable patent attorneys; letters & promotional pamphlets (1959-1960) re/ solar heating for swimming pools and water heaters; letters, news excerpt, promotional material and photos (July-Aug. 1960) re/ Jet Fuel & Storage Company, article on “Undersea Storage a Reality” & photos demonstrating same; letters & periodical excerpt from Astounding Science and Fiction – “The Space-Drive Problem,” (May-Aug. 1960) re/ discussion of inventor Norman Dean’s proposals and critical responses from NASA; letters (Aug.-Sept. 1960) re/ Elco Recording Studio (El Cajon, CA) receives assistance from Wilson as to Library of Congress Class D Form for copyright office; Wilson letter (9/28/60) to United Inventors and Scientists of America; letters (July-Oct. 1960) re/ Dynatech Engineering Company of San Diego and “NASA and Industrial Property” problems; a large stapled packet of material which includes photo and promotional pamphlet (Jan.-Oct. 1960) re/ Lemon Grove constituent Peter E. Shea (DDS), his Pioneer Research Development Co. & efforts to promote for the Armed Services his “Port-A-Dent” portable air-turbine dental unit.
