Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, memo, telegrams, photocopies of blueprints & a news clipping. Examples are: letters (Feb.-Mar. 1963) from San Diego constituent Dick Cardwell, Wilson, Charles B. Ruttenberg (National Science Foundation) & John H. Rubel (Defense Research and Engineering, DOD) re/ “undersea and heavier than aircraft invention;” letters (Feb.-June 1963) re/ two La Mesa constituents’ “invention which makes use of centrifugal force as a means of thrust for the propulsion of vehicles;” letters, memorandum & a copy of “Momentor Physics” (June-July 1963) re/ San Diego constituent John W. Ecklin’s proposal for funds to build a Momentor machine “which gives thrust from a closed system without ejecting the mass;” letters & memo (2/64) from Santee constituent Dr. Donald F. Oderkirk, Wilson & Acting Commissioner Edwin L. Reynolds (Patent Office, Dept. of Commerce) re/ “patent, Serial No. 262,476, filed March 4, 1963, for [plastic baseball] Catcher’s Mitt;” a large stapled packet containing letters, telegrams & 7 enclosures (4/64) from San Diego constituent Paul J. Wirsing, Wilson & the Patent Office re/ Mr. Wirsing’s extensive commentary, photocopies of his proposals as to patents and his interest in registering and practicing as a patent agent; letters (Mar.-May 1964) from San Diego constituent Bob Fanta (Rex Business Service), Wilson & Commissioner Edward J. Brenner re/ Mr. Fanta’s frustration with his trademark dispute with the Coca-Cola Co. – the “faulty acquisition and misuse of my surname, ‘Fanta’ on a label for soft drinks” – allegedly their substitute for “fantasy;” letters (Apr.-July 1964) re/ San Diego constituent Mrs. Cote’s problems with Wilson’s assistance and the Patent Office for a design patent for a Hair Drying Hood; letters (1/65) re/ El Cajon constituent, Wilson & Dept. of Army interest in “a suggestion . . . for using a small tank in counterinsurgency operations;” letters (June-July 1965) re/ “invention for a firearms mechanism;” letters (Sept.-Oct. 1965) & news clipping (2/63) re/ frustration of San Diego constituent not being given credit for long-distance submarine detector he said he suggest in October 1942.
