Examples are: a copy of a letter (1/3/59) from Mrs. Wanda Plagwicz to Mr. Harold Keen (KFMB-TV) & Wilson’s letter (1/11/60) to Mrs. Plagwicz re/ discussion on unemployment in San Diego, government contracts, hours worked being cut to increase employment and political overtones; letters (12/59-1/60) from San Diego constituent Marlow J. Fisher & Wilson re/ former Naval Repair Facility constituent and Democrat (but Wilson voter) receives help from Wilson in seeking employment at National Steel; letter and extensive resume & biography (1/60) for Oscar Robert Glass & Leon W. Parma’s reply (1/21/60) re/ Mr. Glass’ interest in working for Nixon people; letters (1/60) re/ former San Diegan’s unemployment problems and Wilson’s commiserations; a letter (1/11/60) from Rexford Hall (W.D. Smith & enclosed copy of “Selected Statistics on California” for Employment, Religion, General Elections (1956 & 1958) & Primary for 1956 & 1952; letters (May-June 1960) re/ constituent & Wilson discuss the difficulty of finding employment in San Diego; letters & news clipping (6/60) re/ “no wonder taxes are so high . . . All you work for is big business,” news story showing Sen. Paul Douglas disclosing profiteering & waste from DOD expenditures and Wilson’s reply to these accusations from his Imperial Beach constituent; letters (Apr.-June 1960) re/ constituent’s difficulties in finding suitable employment in San Diego; letters (6/60) re/ unemployed former aircraft worker asks Wilson for assistance in obtaining employment with “Operation Dew Line.”
