Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, memos, notes, legal briefs & other items. Examples are: letters (2/61) from Santee constituent John W. Green, Wilson, San Diego Mayor Charles C. Dail & City Attorney J. F. DuPaul re/ accident involving Mr. Green driving a University Heating and Plumbing truck with a City-owned truck; letter (2/28/61) from constituent Amos Black to Wilson re/ “This is 1961 and I suppose you know that I am still fighting my case;” a large packet containing letters, memo, office note & a legal brief (1960-1961) re/ “a complaint and an action I [Ralph Louis D’Adamo] have filed on Anti-Trust Collusion and Boycott against various dealers in manufacturing and beauty supply fields;” letters (Mar. & Apr. 1961) from Mrs. Esther Rae Gay, Wilson & Ancel Graham (Court Clerk, Carter County, OK) re/ problems of missing monthly child support from Mr. Lawrence M. Gay; letters & memorandum (4/61) re/ public allegations against the management of Chrysler Corporation and resulting Securities and Exchange Commission investigation; letters (2/61) re/ auto accident in San Diego County in August 1959 and search for an important witness; letters & pamphlets (12/60-2/61) re/ an “indigent prisoner requests, in the interest of justice, free copies of those portions of the Congressional Record which state the reasons for the enactment of the present laws declaring marijuana to be illegal” – Wilson indicated “that it is not possible to obtain a copy of the 1937 Congressional Record in which the record of the debate on our Narcotic Laws is contained;” letters (5/61) re/ Wilson’s assistance to a constituent concerning the case of Winegar vs. Gray #239,418; letters (May-Aug. 1961) re/ child support loss due to an Air Force Sergeant’s discharge; letters (8/61) re/ loss of child support due to a Navy man’s retirement; letters (Aug.-Sept. 1961) re/ Wilson responds to a constituent request as to property ownership in Texas; letters (July-Sept. 1961) re/ Wilson responds to a constituent’s problems with the College of Medical and Dental Assistants & receives a reply from the County District Attorney; a stapled packet of letters (JulyDec. 1961) re/constituent receives assistance from Wilson in the matter of a G.I loan and the constituent’s “fourteen year battle, to avoid my indebtedness to the United States government, has been naught;” 2 letters (2/20/61) from Wilson re/ constituent problem with the courts of South Dakota.
