Scope and Contents
A collection of letters, telegrams, notes & copies of Mexican radio and television laws translated into English. Examples are: stapled packet of letters, telegrams , editorials, etc. (Mar.-June 1959) from the Dept. of State, Dept. of the Air Force, FCC, Congressman Wilson, County of San Diego and local stations KGB, KFMB, KFSD re/ complaints and responses as to Mexican stations remaining on the air during the time on Friday, April 17 when all San Diego stations cooperated and participated in the Conelrad Test; letters (9/59-3/60) from Wilson, William B. Macomber, Jr. (Asst. Secretary, Dept. of State) & William E. Goetze (Ex. V.P. & General Mgr., KFSD-TV) re/ information regarding the Mexican Law of General Lines of Communication that had been translated into English by the Library of Congress; memoradum (2/60) re/ “Mexican radio problem & Diario Officiado Jan 19, 1960” & communication to Wilson from Elizabeth Hanunian (LRS Translator, Legislative Reference Service, Library of Congress); 2 copies of Mexico’s “Federal Radio Television Law” as translated from “Diario Official” of Jan. 19, 1960 – 20 pages each.
