Scope and Contents
A small collection of letters, telegram, resolution, postal card & government documents. Examples are: a letter (12/63) from the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce & Wilson’s reply (1/64) re/ opposition to the Udall Water Plan in its present form; a letter (4/8/64) from El Cajon constituent Mrs. Russel L. Stockwell (League of Women Voters of California) & Wilson’s reply (4/15/64) re/ a copy of the Udall proposal and a copy of S. 1658; a telegram (6/12/64) from the Los Angeles Dept. of Water & Power to Wilson thanking Wilson for protecting California’s use of 4.4 million acre feet of water annually; a letter (6/16/64) from Desert Water Agency (Palm Springs) to Wilson & enclosed Resolution No. 66 in support of S 2760; postal card & letters (Aug.-Sept. 1964) re/ responses to a pro Goldwater Republican and Wilson constituent’s alarm about “public demonstrations in Mexico intended to influence world public opinion against the United States in the [Colorado River] salinity issue;” stapled packet containing letters (Aug.- Sept. 1964) re/ the Mexican salinity problem caused by land reclamation along the Colorado River in Southwestern Arizona, constituent concern about Communist propaganda in Mexico & attached copies of H.R. 11397 & H.R. 12326.
