A collection of memorandum, letters, office notes, reports, postal cards, resolutions & a telegram. Examples are: Memorandum (1/30/63) from Congressman Craig Hosmer to Republican Colleagues re/ “Problem Analysis of Test Ban Issue”; letter & statement (2/1/63) from Craig Hosmer to Colleagues re/ “Statement of Representative Craig Hosmer for the Republican Conference Committee on Nuclear Test Ban Negotiations” & Dr. Edward Teller, “Consequences of a Test Ban” – total = 11 legal-sized pages; a copy of “First Report to the Republican Conference by its Committee on Nuclear Testing” – “Not for publication until February 10. 1963 – 3 legal-sized pages; a copy of Congressman James B. Utt’s, Washington Report – “For Release February 14, 1963” – He was one of 37 members of Congress who voted against the Arms Control and Disarmament Act in 1961 – Public Law 87-297 and now fears a new crisis over too much disarmament and restrictions on nuclear testing; eight letters & one postal card (Jan.-Feb. 1963) from constituents & Wilson’s replies re/ all are in opposition to the Arms Control and Disarmament Act; a September 26, 1962 Resolution from the San Diego County Federation of Republican Women’s Clubs & Wilson reply (3/26/63) re/ fears of too much military control to the U.N. & Wilson’s assurances that “we must maintain our strength;” an April 17, 1963 Resolution from the Republican 64th Assembly District Club & Wilson’s reply (4/30/63) re/ opposition to Arms Control and Disarmament Agency Act; a letter (3/30/63) from constituent Charles H. Saucer & Wilson’s reply (4/12/63) re/ response to inquiry about State Department publication No. 7277 “Freedom From War” – Wilson indicated he opposed “this planned program for disarmament;” 12 letters from constituents and Wilson’s replies (Apr.- May 1963) re/ support for House Concurrent Resolution 83 (Burleson-Curtis Resolution) – a resolution designed to restrict the current administration and return more power in foreign affairs to congress; constituent letters & a telegram & Wilson’s replies (May-June 1963) re/ politically conservative opposition to the Arms Control Act, Senate Bill 777 and other actions of the Kennedy Administration and the U.N.
