Examples are: a letter (2/3/53) from constituent Mrs. Cynthia Curlee & Wilson’s reply (2/12/53) re/ local politics, Mission Beach issues, Federal Housing and other information; a letter (2/20/53) from Tom C. Gargill (Acting Assist. Postmaster General) to Wilson re/ Mission Beach Coordinating Council and maintenance of postal facilities in Mission Beach area; letters (2/16, 2/26 & 3/6/53) from Cynthia Curlee and Wilson re/ concerns about Mission Beach Post Office and other political issues; letters (12/22/52, 3/4 & 3/13/53) from Helen Pemberton (Secretary, Mission Beach Coordinating Council) & Wilson re/ details on status of Mission Beach contract Post Office, present postmistress & adequate compensation; letters (3/6, 3/12 & 3/13/53) re/ continuation of correspondence between Cynthia Curlee and Wilson as to Post Office, Republican plans, concerns about Russian propaganda and other issues; telegram & letter (3/14 & 3/24/53) re/ members of the Mission Beach Womens Club complain about bid process for Post Office contract Mission Beach station; letters & news clippings (3/53) re/ Mission Bay Republican Womens Federated Club thank Wilson for retaining the Post Office at Mission Beach & news clippings indicate that Mrs. Coro E. Dennis would operate the post office & received $2400 a year; a letter (4/2/53) from Helen Pemberton to Wilson thanking him for helping Mission Bay keep its post office; a letter (3/28/53) from Mrs. Curlee & Wilson’s reply (4/13/53) re/ “Thank you so much for getting our sub-station bid approved” & Wilson’s “Thanks for your many nice complements.”
