Scope and Contents
A collection of letters & petitions. Examples are: a letter (9/25/55) from Mrs. G. L. Molchan (Lake Morena Land & Development Co.) & Admin. Asst. E. F. Terrar, Jr.’s reply (10/4/55) re/ details on the “feasibility of the establishment of a post office at Morena Lake;” letters & memorandum (Sept.-Oct. 1955) re/ more input from Mrs. Molchan and others as to potential for establishing a fourth class post office at Morena Lake; letters (10/27 & 11/9/55) re/ Wilson informs Mrs. Molchan that the manager at the S.F. Regional Operations Center had declined to establish a post office at Lake Morena; letters (Nov.-Dec. 1955) re/ Mrs. Molchan’s long letter to Wilson and his reply wherein she launches into a conservative complain about New Dealers and other government policies and actions; stapled packet containing letters and two “Petition For Establishment of Post Office” (Mar.-June 1959) re/ Lincoln Hart (President Lake Morena Community Club, Campo, CA), Wilson and W.E. Birdsall (Director, General Appointments and Post Office Changes Division) respond to the need for a post office for Lake Morena. The petitions were unsuccessful in convincing Dir. Birdsall that these 75-100 families needed a separate post office
