There are a small number of letters in this folder. Examples are: letters (1/20/54) from Wilson to Mrs. Agnes McCown & from Postmaster General Arthur E. Summerfield to Wilson re/ discussion of rural delivery to Otay Mesa; letters (1/26 & 2/1/54) from N. R. Abrams (Asst. Postmaster General) & Wilson re/ the Post Dept. is giving attention to the request for rural service to Otay Mesa; letters (Feb.-Mar. 1954) from Carl H. Stahlheber (Acting Postmaster, Chula Vista), Mrs. Agnes McCown, N.R. Abrams (Asst. Postmaster General) & Wilson re/ notice to Mrs. McGown – “all the territory previously served by Rural Route 1 had been converted to City Delivery effective October 1, 1954;” a letter (10/9/54) from Mrs. McGown to Wilson thanking Wilson for his assistance in establishing mail service to Otay Mesa; letters (5/55) from Robert Fahs (Asst. Regional Mgr. S.F.) & Wilson re/ objection by Mr. & Mrs. H.R. Fuller to the proposed closing of the post office sub-station located in the Otay General Store; letters (May & June 1955) re/ assurances to Mr. & Mrs. Fuller that the Otay Contract Station will continue to operate for a two-year period – 7/1/55-6/30/57; copy of a letter (6/6/55) from Wilson to Ray Coyle (Publisher, Chula Vista Star-News) re/ the contract stations for Otay Mesa and Brown Field will be extended for a two-year period.
