Scope and Contents

A small collection of letters, memos, notes & applications for tickets. As with the previous examples on this topic, the emphasis is on requests for extra tickets. Examples are: a letter (7/26) from Edmund A. Rafalko (Colonel, USAF, Dir. of Athletics, Air Force Academy) to Wilson & a booklet of Air Force Academy “1964 Football Ticket Applications” re/ the Colonel welcomed Wilson to the Air Force Academy Athletic Association – “Enclosed is your membership card, our football schedule, and application forms to use for your ticket purchases;” a Memorandum (6/24) To Boss From Ed. re/ “General Coleman of Hughes Aircraft asked to be put on the list to receive your Army-Navy Football tickets for November 28 if you are not going to use them. He wrote a letter to Frank Reynolds requesting space at any of the top San Francisco hotels for the convention and is becoming too demanding to my way of thinking;” a letter (7/6) from W. S. Busik (Capt., Dir. of Athletics, Naval Academy Athletic Association) to welcome Wilson as an honorary member of the Association and provided a membership card, a football schedule & forms to apply for tickets; Memorandum (7/24) to Edgar from Cathy re/ letter from the Army as to tickets; a “Dear Colleague” letter (7/30) from Congressman Abraham J. Multer (13th Dist. N.Y) & office note (7/31) re/ “Once again my Brooklyn football fans are requesting Army-Navy tickets. I will be pleased to exchange Agricultural bulletins, Agricultural Yearbooks, or any other publications which I have on hand which you may need, in return for the tickets;” letters (8/13) from Senator Hugh Scott & Congressmen Arch A. Moore, Jr. & William Bates to “Dear Colleague” all requesting tickets if you do not need them; a “Dear Colleague” letter (10/6) from Congressman Joel T. Broyhill (10th Dist. Virginia) re/ “The deadline for Army-Navy football game tickets is October 10. If your requests have not exceeded your allotment, I would be pleased to have your extras;” “Memo To S.O.S. Members” (10/27) from Congressman Peter H. B. Frelinghuysen (5th Dist. New Jersey) re/ a request for spare tickets; “Note for File September 29 Jean Wilson called today and said to save 2 tickets to Army Navy Game for Sally Caveness;” office note (n.d.) re/ “Congressman Minish of New Jersey ex 5035 desires Army-Navy tickets.”
