A collection of letters, memos, memorandum, news clipping & other item: these are filed from December to June. Selected examples are: letters (Nov.-Dec.) re/ KSON Dan McKinnon President – “Many thanks for the American Flag which was flown over the Capitol. The response to our contest “Why Are We Fighting In Viet Nam” has been so great, we have extended it an additional week. Thanks for your participation;” letters (Sept.-Nov.) re/ flag for Mr. & Mrs. John J. Carero of La Mesa; letters (Nov.) re/ flag for presentation to the Fleet Reserve Assn. of Imperial Beach; letters (Oct.) re/ flag for the Grossmont Christian Church; letters (Oct.) re/ flag for the Cyril Busch family and presented by Mr. & Mrs. W. H. Young; letters (Sept.-Nov.) re/ “a flag which has been flown over the Capitol for presentation to the San Diego Society, Children of the American Revolution” & their appeals for assistance; letters (Nov.) re/ flag in honor of Lewis Fonthein, Chapter Advisor, Point Loma Chapter, Order of De Molay; letters (Oct.-Nov.) Charles E. Porter (Asst. to the San Diego City Mgr.) requests and receives a flag for presentation to Boy Scout Troop Number 270 of Grace Lutheran Church; letters (Nov.-Dec.) re/ VFW Post #3788 requests and will receive a flag flown over the Capitol for presentation to a Pony League they hope to get started in May 1966; more letters for(Oct.- Nov.) re/ flags for the new home of the San Diego Cerebral Palsy Foundation, the dedication ceremony for the S.D. Junior Achievement Building, the Girls’ Club of San Diego, the United States House of Pacific Relations, the dedication of the Fred Rohr School, San Diegans Ted Jardine, Eugene Unger, Gary Swenson & Miss Cheryl York, the Fletcher Hills Scout Hut. Letters from July-Sept. re/ constituents Mr. & Mrs. Richard R. Rachel, the American Legion San Diego Women’s Post No. 451 for the Cabrillo Little League (May 1966), Gillispie Child Care Assn., St. Paul’s Episcopal Home, the new San Diego Chapter 44 of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers, Mesa Vista Hospital & other commentary to Wilson from Capt. Norval R. Richarson (USN Ret.) as to new stanza to the Star Spangled Banner, Boy Scout Camp HUAL-CU-CUISH, La Mesans Mr. & Mrs. Jesse V. George, San Diegan Rose C. Pla, the San Diego Chapter of the Order of De Molay’s new location, American Legion Post N. 460 request for the Clairemont Branch of the Boys’ Club of San Diego, a smaller-sized flag for the Boys‘ and Girls’ Aid Society, two 3x5 flags for Spring Valley constituent R. Howell Hill.
