Scope and Contents
A collection of letters, telegrams, notes, memos, memorandums & other items, that are filed chronologically from August back to January with some from 1964. E. Clauss (Santee & WWI Vet.) needs new flag and questions why more residents are not flying the flag; Mrs. A. B. Carlson & flag for presentation to Brownie Girl Scout Troop #222; Alpine resident John W. Bilsky (Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 258) helps the Star of India obtain a flag; “To Maggie From Marge” – “Will you please have a flag flown for Mrs. Paul McIntire . . . . This lady is a faithful worker for us;” flag for P. H. Smith (U.S. Savings Bond Chairman, U.S. Navy Public Works Center) thanks Wilson for obtaining a flag flown over the Capitol for their flagpole; and a special cloth enclosed copy of a photo showing “Flag Design By Herman L. Spieker” & a poem “‘Old Glory’ by Vera Whitbey.”
