A small collection of letters & cards. These are filed from September back to January. A letter (8/16) from W.B. Hage, Jr. & Wilson’s reply (9/13) re/ politics – Wilson is talking tough—and his “becoming a Marine a few years back;” a letter (8/21) from Dr. Donald Mitchell (OD) & Wilson’s reply (9/13) re/ sending Wilson a pair of glasses; two thank you cards from Harry Foster to Wilson (n.d.); a letter & an announcement (7/9) from Nathan E. Jacobs (National Hairdressers and Cosmetologist Assn., Inc.) & Wilson’s reply (7/12) re/ “Thank you for sending the resumes of each State Nominee in the Second Annual NHCA Community leadership program; a 1 page letter (7/18) from Wilson to Don Driese (The Tolle Co.) re/ attending “a special parade at the Marine Barracks honoring Armed Service Chairman, Carl Vinson. . . . It’s really a thrilling sight;” several single page letters from Wilson as follows - (4/8) to David M. Snyder (L. Gordon & Sons) re/ “Sorry I missed you when you dropped by the office the other day;” (4/8) to S.D. Mayor Charles C. Dail re/ “As I promised, I’m enclosing a copy of ‘Duty As Seen By Lincoln.’ Please don’t hesitate to let me know if we may be of assistance to you in any way back here;” (4/12) to Curtis Coleman (Curtis Coleman Co.) re/ “Thank you for sending me the little booklet which I thoroughly enjoyed reading” - “note for file - Boss kept booklet;” a letter (2/11) from Congressman Francis E. Walters to Wilson re/ “Thank you so much for your kind thoughtfulness. . . . I hope to join you again on ‘the Hill’ shortly;” a letter (1/25) from Gerald A. Awes (President, Lucky Stores, Inc.) & Wilson’s reply (2/8) re/ “We are pleased to see that you were re-elected chairman of the Republican Congressional Committee. . . . We are very fortunate to have men of your caliber and integrity representing us.”
