Scope and Contents
This is a small collection of letters, a manila envelope containing library information, memos & a news clipping. This folder contains lots of information about “The drive for an English language library by the people of La Paz ‘to learn more about America and resist the growing propaganda of the Communists,’” according to the article, “Drive For Library La Paz Picks Up,” The San Diego Union, Sept. 9, 1960. Roger K. Paulson (Director, Freedom Books, Inc.) of San Diego), Wilson and others, such as Submarine Flotilla I, played key roles in this effort. The manila envelope contains “Articles of Purpose” & other material from Freedom Books, International and there is a letter (in Spanish and as translated into English) from Bonifacio Salinas Leal, General of Division Governor and Military Commander, La Paz, Lower California, Mexico.
