Scope and Contents

A collection of letters, telegrams, news clippings & Dept. of Interior of Information. Examples are: letters (3/25 & 4/20/53) from Congressman Wilson & Senator William F. Knowland re/ “information concerning Colonel Irving Salomon, who is interested in a position with the United Nations. I have already recommended him to the State Department for consideration; letters & telegrams (10/53) re/ supporting and acknowledging the need to appoint Donald Prescott Loker as one of four United States Commissioners to the International North Pacific Fisheries Commission; letters (3/55-11/56) & news clipping re/ Wilson’s assistance to Andreas Le Brown (San Diego State College senior) win the L. G. Balfour Award of Sigma Chi Fraternity & then Wilson’s recommendation to help Mr. Brown as a 2nd year Stanford Law student; letters & telegrams (10/55-1/56) re/ Wilson’s assistance to help singer Al Cava perform for the Arthur Godfey Talent Scouts, Columbia Broadcast System; a staple packet containing letters (6/7 & 6/11) from the National Park Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service, Wilson & attached pages of employment information from the Dept. of Interior re/ responding to an inquiry from Chula Vista constituent John T.Gilbert seeking future employment preparation for his junior high school son; letters (5/57) re/ more on John T. Gilbert’s son who is now in high school; letters & telegrams (12/56-4/57) re/ Wilson & others help Miss Stephanie Louise Cooper “be presented at the Court of St. James” on April 4, 1957; copy of a letter (7/10/58) from La Jolla constituent Karl B. Hill to Wilson re/ thanks for help in “the promotion of my nephew, Henry Hulser, in the Post Office at Elmira, New York;” stapled packet of letters (9/57-11/58) re/ recommendations, Spanish translation, etc. helping Walter B. Broderick of La Mesa prepare and plan for his trip to Central and South America; letters (12/2/58) re/ Wilson to Walter B. Broderick of La Mesa – “I am very pleased to enclose a letter for your use during your six week trip through Central and South America.”
