Scope and Contents
A small collection of memos, letters, telegrams and news clippings. Examples are: memo, letters and telegrams (June & July 1953) re/ Florence Chadwick’s concern for protection against sharks and the request for U.S. Navy assistance when swimming the English Channel and the Straits of Gibralter; copy of a letter (1/19/54) from Wilson to Allen Wilson (the Advertising Council, Washington, D.C.) re/ “Thanks for sending along the Dam material. I’ll be glad to get this Dam issue settled;” a letter (n.d.) from San Diego constituent Paul E. Bloomer, an attached news clipping from Tom Carmichael’s “Outdoors” column in the Evening Tribune (2/18/55) and Wilson’s reply (4/23/55) re/ Bloomer’s suggestions about the need for a national fishing license and other perks for the over 65 crowd; letters (Oct. 55 to May 56) re/ Mexican sport-fishing fees increased and responses from the California Wildlife Federation, Wilson and the Dept. of State. Wilson was concerned about “raising the price of individual fishing permits for passengers aboard sport fishing boats operating off Coronado Island, Mexico out of San Diego harbor.”
