Recreation, 1960
Scope and Contents
Only one stapled copy of letters, note and memo (Aug. 59 to Jan. 60) re/ responses from Wilson and restaurant owner Byron Valle to a letter (8/3/59) from Miss Dee Clavell “writing on behalf of the younger generation. I would like to suggest that there be some facilities for us. We are not permitted to go into any well known eating place or club because we would be under age and there is liquor being served.” Mr. Valle suggested that the non profit pre war dance club in Balboa Park might be a solution. In his response to Wilson he also spent time criticizing the concept of minimum wage in a typical business person’s viewpoint.
