Scope and Contents
A small collection as follows: letter (7/8) from constituent Fred J. Korabek (Realtor) & Wilson’s reply (7/14) re/ a concern over the “conditions pertaining to boxing” & his suggestion that legislation similar to the “Jackie Coogan Act” be used to protect financial interests in the boxing business; letters (Aug. & Sept.) from Wilson( & his attached news clipping “State Takes Over Road To Mineral King Ski Area,” The Fresno Bee, July 30, 1965), A. W. Greeley (Forest Service, Dept. of Agriculture) & Chas. A. Connaughton (Regional Forester) re/ responses to Wilson’s inquiry “about the proposed Mineral King commercial recreation development, in the Sequoia National Forest” & other personal information. Wilson was responding to constituents and others who were concern about this Disney development – does “he think about the possible tragedies to others?;” letters (Sept.) from Wilson and Vince Flaherty re/ a proposal to create a winter sports center in the San Gorgonio area – currently there was bill in the House Subcommittee on Public Lands. In Flaherty’s letter he claimed bringing major league baseball to California and “opened the way for pro football or persuaded Barron Hilton to move to San Diego with the Chargers.”
