Scope and Contents
A small collection of letters filed from September 1960 back to November 1959. These are: a letter (9/19/60) Dick Thomas, Graduate Manager, Assoc. Students, San Diego State College & Wilson’s reply (9/27/60) re/ Thomas’ “thoughtfulness in sending me a pass to the Aztedc 1960 home football games;” a copy of a letter (12/11/59) from Wilson to James H. Corley (V.P. Government Relations, Univ. of California) re/ long range plans for the University of California at La Jolla concerning the continuing of the Torrey Pines Gliderport as a part of recreational facilities for the university; a letter (11/19/59) from Ray Belnap (Dir. Dept. of Honor Camps, County of San Diego) & Wilson Secretary Margaret Young’s reply (11/24/59) re/ “the proposal to establish a Youth Conservation Corps;” letters (Oct.-Nov. 1959) from constituent Walter O. Gerber, Jr., Wilson & Roger Ernst (Assist. Secretary of the Interior) re/ the need to have more public land set aside for hunting. Private ownership of lands in coastal areas where Mr. Gerber wanted to hunt were off limits.
