Scope and Contents

A large collection of letters, office notes, telegrams, phone messages and other items. These are filed from Dec. 1960 back to Sept. 1959. Examples are: stapled packet of letters (12/20-10/6/60) re/ Private George A. Barnett (Chula Vista) and Wilson’s assistance because of Barnett’s personal difficulties; card and letter (12/1/60) re/ Thank you to Wilson from Gilbert Flanders for Wilson’s “assistance in aiding me in my problem;” stapled packet of card and letters (11/23-10/27/60) re/ training obligation problems for Specialist 4th Class Gilbert L. Flanders & Wilson’s assistance; letters, memo for file & office note (Nov.) re/ constituent Richard G. Chadwick’s “recent inquiry concerning your pay status while working for the California National Guard;” letters (11/3 – 9/23/60) re/ Coronado constituent Richard I. Maxey and his “recent inquiry concerning your remaining military obligation;” letters (10/7-9/26/60) re/ La Jolla constituent Captain Henry S. VA.) to Wilson re/ Poff’s frustration that a one-unit Army Reserve Armory for Lynchburg, VA had been excluded from the budget as too low in priority; letters & notes (1/28 /60 – 12/29/59) re/ Lt. Commander Phillip C. Acker, Jr. (S.D. City Clerk) is assisted by Leon W. Parma (Wilson’s Admin. Asst.) in becoming a Commander; stapled packet of letters (2/1/60 – 9/22/59) re/ PFC Donald E. Webster (Spring Valley) was unsuccessful in obtaining a hardship release from his training duties as a member of the Army Reserve; letter & office note (1/14/60) re/ Wilson’s letter to Lt. Col. Harold E. Deams (6215 A.R.S.U. Fort Rosecrans) recommending Robert MacFarlane . . . for a commission in the Army Reserve.”
