Scope and Contents
This primarily a collection of letters: examples are: a stapled packet containing letters, an envelope & a 3 page copy of “Reorganization of the USAR – Sixth US Army Area State of California” (Feb.-Apr.) re/ although there are personal commentaries in this packet the primary emphasis is on the proposed deactivation of the 310th Convalescent Center based at Fort Rosecrans; several letters (Mar.-May) re/ a discussion of the deactivation of the 424th Civil Affairs Military Government Company (CAMG) at Fort Rosecrans; letters & telegram (Feb.-May) re/ “Scheduled April Deactivation of Local Army Reserve Units Particularly Disasterous to 154 Reservists in 424 CAMG Company;” letters (Apr.-May) re/ further complaints from Wilson constituents about officers from the 424th CAMG that have been unable to find billets; a letter (5/14) from W. J. DeBrunner (S.D. County Building & Construction Trades Council) to Wilson re/ “Thank you for your excellent cooperation in aiding the establishment of the new 630th CAMG Group (Reinforcement Training) at Fort Rosecrans;” letters (Mar. & May) re/ Congressman Wilson - “Thank you very much for your personal interest and follow through regarding the effective use of reserve personnel of the deactivated 424 CAMG Company” – Richard B. Huntington (President, San Diego Chapter Civil Affairs/Military Government Association.
