Scope and Contents
This is a small collection of letters, maps, news clippings & a pamphlet. They are filed from November to January: Examples are: letters (11/29 & 11/15) from State Senator Randolph Collier and J. Dekema (CA. Asst. State Highway Engineer) to Wilson re/ information on highway development and two maps of District XI Territory Showing Freeway Progress on State Highways and of San Diego County; letters (Oct.’63) re/ Wilson assists John A. Skunk (Pres., Equipment Engineering Co. of San Diego) in obtaining information about the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1962; a stapled packet containing correspondence & a news clipping (2/61-3/63) re/ RR grade crossings and other concerns from El Cajon constituent Frank A. Marik; letters (11/62 & 1/63) & a pamphlet entitled “Purpose and Policy In the Establishment and Development of United States Numbered Highways” (8/1/62) re/ a suggestion from San Diego constituent Walter L. Wilkins that U.S.80 be extended from its present terminus at U.S. 101 to the lighthouse at Cabrillo National Monument.”
