A collection of memos, memorandums, letters, telegrams, news releases, news clippings & articles, photos & government documents. Examples are: 1 letter (1/5/61) from Larry Hunt (Convair Astronautics) thanking Wilson for his help in getting employment at Convair; a small collection of letters (Jan. 1961) from Col. J.L. Perkins, USMC (Ret.) & Wilson & attached newsclipping re/ supersonic jet aircraft as a troop carrier as well as a civilian transport & comments on beating President Kennedy to the punch on this type of aircraft promotionalism; 1 copy of a news release for Jan. 23, 1961 from Congressman Wilson—“Wilson Outlines Efforts To Bring Defense Contracts To San Diego” re/ details of corresp. with IAM Lodge 1125 for “the SOR Jet Transport Program and F106 Program,” as well as praise for the defense dollars sent to San Diego during the Eisenhower Administration; 1 Western Union telegram (1/17/61) from Ray Pekrul (Recording Sec., Lodge 1125, IAM) & Wilson’s reply (1/23/61) re/ the Union’s interest in the SOR Jet Transport Program & F106 Program; a small packet containing photocopies of “San Diego, California”—statistical info. on population, unemployement, dwelling units, mortgage foreclosures, etc. (1 page), 1 map of U.S. showing “F-106 Program Impacts on Surplus Labor Areas,” & photocopies of Congressional Record-Senate, Jan. 10, 1961, pp. 468-471 focusing on “Text of Report on U.S. Economy Prepared for Kennedy By Task Force;” 1 Western Union telegram (2/1/61) fronm R.T.
