Scope and Contents

A small collection of leadership training material, letters, memos, telegrams and brochures. Examples are: Two “Leadership Training Civic Improvement” folders with 1957-1958 material; file copy for Wilson’s office—“Administration-Christrmas Card . . . Public Relations Thank You Letters” (1/2/58) re/ “Poinsetta stamps;” 1 copy of a letter (1/14/58) from Congressman Wilson to Chairman, Outstanding Young Man Committee,” Jaycees (1/14/58) re/ Wilson’s recommendation of Milton Fillius (General Manager, National Steel and Shipbuilding Corp.) for Outstanding Young Man; office file copy – “Public Relations—Congratulations – San Diego—Jaycees” (1/22/58) re/ Mr. E. Glen Youmans selected as “Chula Vista’s ‘OUTSTANDING YOUNG MAN OF THE YEAR;’” 1 letter (3/12/58) from Z.J. Montgomery (Land Title Co. of Alameda County) & Wilson’s reply (3/31/58) re/ “publication of John Montgomery’s manuscript,” aviation history, & possible donation of ms. to the Library of Congress; one 4 page copy of “Jaycee Breakfast—Cosmos Club, Washington D.C. Wilson (Attorney at law, Clearwater, FL) & Congressman Wilson’s reply (10/17/58) re/ the honor of being selected a J.C.I. Senator; 1 letter (12/7/58) from Jac E. Griswold (Poinsettia Stamp Sales Chairman, S.D. Jaycees) & Wilson’s reply (12/11/58) re/ sponsorship of an annual Poinsettia Festival including a Poinsettia Bowl Football game (U.S.D. vs. Montana State Univ.), a basketball tournament & various other contests—the stamps “normally sold for 50 cents a sheet.”
