A collection of letters, telegrams, memos, brochures & booklets. Examples are: One Western Union telegram (12/31/58) from W.L. Palmer (National Steel and Shipbuilding Corp.) & Wilson’s reply (1/6/59) re/ nominating, again, Milton Fillius “for the title of Outstanding Young Man of San Diego” & Wilson’s commentary on the shipyard’s $41 million contract to build 4 additional C-3 vessels—“San Diego is coming to the fore in a major non-defense field;” 1 copy of the San Diego Jaycee, Yearbook Supplement 1959; 1 copy of the Junior Chamber International, World Directory of Senators (48 pp.); 1 copy of a Jaycee “Activities Bulletin” (12/31/58) & 1 letter (1/7/59) from Leon Parma (Wilson’s Admin. Asst.) re/ “a date for Bob to receive the J.C.I. membership certificate . . . he will be in San Diego the week of January 22;” 1 letter (1/13/59) from James B. Still (Pres., S.D. Jaycees) & Wilson’s reply (1/16/59) re/ attendance at the award dinner on January 22; 1 letter (2/2/59) from James B. Still & Wilson’s reply (2/9/59) re/ the Awards Dinner on January 22; 1 official invitation from “Mr. & Mrs. Ewart W. Goodwin for Reception and Cocktails in observance of the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the San Diego Junior Chamber of Commerce” & Wilson’s response (6/15/59) to the Goodwin’s invitation re/ his “inability to be with you;” 1 letter (7/15/59) from Robert J. Crouch (Pres., S.D. Jaycees) & Wilson’s reply (7/22/59) re/ Wilson’s role “as installing officer” & “a little fatherly and completely personal advice;” 1 letter (12/15/59) from George J. Becker, Jr. (Poinsettia Pageant Chairman) & Wilson’s reply (12/30/59) re/ stamps, Pageant, other activities in San Diego, & Paul Ecke, “and his neighboring farmers[,] fighting nip and tuck battles with real estate and land developers, with an eye for turning his productive, valuable land into expensive homes overlooking the ocean. The farmers have been successful in obtaining ‘Protective Agricultural zoning’ for their lands;” 1 letter (3/12/60) from Milton Zapata (Pres., Junior Chamber International) & Wilson’s reply (3/25/60) re/ J.C.I.’s program to aid the Tibetans refugees;” a packet containing 1 letter (1/27/61) from Rex L. Flint (Pres., CA State Jaycees), Congressman Wilson’s reply (2/8/61) & attached copy of a CA State Jaycee booklet, Tax Rate Reform and The National Economy re/ the CA State Jaycee directors Nov. 6, 1960 meeting went “on record in support of tax rate reform as spelled out by the principles contained in the Herlong and Baker tax bills” (H.R. 2030 and H.R. 2031) and suggested each chapter initiate a “Suggested Resolution . . .” supporting these concepts; 1 letter (7/11/61) from Dale A. Pursel (Pres., S.D. Jaycees) to Congressman Wilson thanking him “for honoring us with your attendance at our annual Installation Dinner Dance;” 1 copy of the San Diego Junior Chamber of Commerce, Annual Yearbook 1961-1962 (53 pp. with text and photos).
