Casey was the head of the local “‘Democrats for Wilson’ committee;” copies of letters (6/59) from Congressman Wilson, Senator Clair Engle & David Casey (Casey, McClenahan & Christensen, Attorneys at Law) re/ “‘Spence Bill, H.R. 7244,’ which would prohibit a holding company from acquiring insured savings and loan associations,” Casey, a supporter of San Diego Imperial Corp., opposed this bill, & Senator Engle’s response to Wilson’s request for support of Casey’s appointment as a local judge; a copy of a telegram (9/8/59) from Wilson to Fred Kunzel & Kunzel’s reply (9/8/59) re/ “the approval of you nomination.
