A large collection of congressional documents, letters, memos, memorandums, telegrams, office notes, news letters & other items. Examples are: One copy of Am. Tunaboat Assn. News Letter, No. 12, Dec. 1961, “Review—1961,” legislation for federal, California & Japanese fishing activities; One copy of a “Preliminary Statement of the Tunaboat Association Prepared for Subcommittee on the Impact of Imports and Exports on American Economy by August Felando, General Manager, December 5, 1961” (21 pp. including statistical data & photostats of tunaboats); a small collection of letters (Dec. 1961) from Leon W. Parma (Wilson’s Admin. Asst.), Donald McKernan (Dir., Bureau of Commercial Fisheries, Fish & Wildlife Service, Dept. of the Interior), Congressman Wilson, & office notes re/ “proposed transfer by the National Marine Terminals, Incorporated, of part of its fleet to Panamanian interests who intend to operate in Peruvian waters;” 2 copies of Am. A Bill To Amend the Act of September 7, 1950 re/ Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission; 1 letter (10/3/61) from August Felando (General Mgr., Am. Tunaboat Assn.) to Wilson, a 3 page letter (10/5/61) from W.M. Chapman (Dir., The Resource Committee) to Wilson, 1 copy of Dr. Chapman’s 8 page “Report on meeting of the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (9/17/61), & a copy of “Resolution 14 September 1961—Inter-American Tuna Commission (3 pages) re/ Dr. Chapman’s comment that “S.2568 is an excellent bill” & extensive information on the Inter-Americn Tropical Tuna Commission; a small packet of letters (June & Oct. 1961) from RAdm. Leslie Gehres (National Marine Terminal, Inc.), Leon Parma (Wilson’s Admin. Asst.), & Congressman Wilson re/ “the case of the Motor Vessel Judy S against which a fine was levied by the government of Ecuador and for which we are awaiting reimbusement by the Treasury Department . . . . under Public Law 680, Fishermens Protective Act . . . .;” a large packet of corresp.
