Wilfred Hearn (Judge Advocate General in the U.S. Navy), Margaret M. Young (Wilson’s Secretary), telephone call note, Capt. E.B. Parker, Jr. (The Physical Review Council, Dept. of the Navy), El Cajon constituent & retired Chief Bo’son’s Mate Robert H. Welch, Speedletter (U.S. Navy Physical Review Council), George H. Burkhart M.D. (GP, Chula Vista, CA) & attached copies of “Medical examination records for Robert Welch” re/ a retired Navy chief, & POW of the Japanese, was successful in his efforts to obtain a 60% disability classification & rebut the Navy’s Physical Review Council’s resistance; a 4 page letter (rec’d. 1/8/65) from A/2C T.H. B, 447th Signal Battalion) and his concerns about the “unusually high rents, cost of living and lack of overseas pay in the area of Dusseldorf, Germany” – these were rebuted in Lt. Col. II serive for the purposes of qualifying for a CAL VET loan; one 3 page copy of a letter (3/19/65) from YN2 Richard L. R. Thiel to “Presidents Special Panel on Federal Salaries” re/ a criticism of the low pay enlisted personnel receive & the difficulties of supporting a wife & three children; a small packet of letters (Feb.-Mar. 1965 & June 6, 1961) from San Diego consti-tuent Hedric “D” Greene (GMGC (L-4), USNFR-I6), Congressman Wilson, RAdm. C.L. Andrews (Asst. Chief for Personnel and Professional Operations, BuMed), LCDR A.J. Klein (Congressional Liaison Div., Office of the Secretary of the Navy), Congressman Wilson, RAdm. H.H. Eighmy (Asst. Chief for Personnel and Professional Operations, BuMed) & Capt. Paul R. Engle (Dir., Physical Qualifications and Medical Records Div., BuMed) re/ Mr. Greene’s request that “my case be reopenned, reevaluated, and adjusted to my retirement date, June 19, 1961;” 5 letters (Jan.-Mar. 1965) from Congressman Wilson, Lakeside constituent Curtis Whited, & Lt. C.H. Klindworth (Sp. Asst. for Liaison and Technical Information, BuPers), T.S. Savage (Dir., Officer Service and Records, BuPers) re/ Mr. Featherman received much needed assistance from Wilson in acquiring “two copies of my orders of separation from active duty, which I must have to complete my application for the State Bar Examination;” 1 letter (3/8/65) from San Diego constituent Florence Urias & Wilson’s reply (316/65) re/ W.W. II & Korean War veteran, & civil service employee Urias, speaks out against “the statement Bernard Gladieux made to alter the Veterans Preference Act;” 1 letter (3/16/65) from Rev. Frank B.
